For those of us who work in Facebook Marketing, it’s both important and difficult to stay up-to-date on the latest changes and best practices for Facebook Pages. After all, Facebook is changing more often than ever. Everything from a small tweak in Facebook’s EdgeRank algorithm to the revamp of Pages to Timeline affects a Page’s performance.

What better than a list of– you guessed it– Facebook Pages to keep you well-informed and ahead of the curve.  Whether you’re an industry expert or a rookie just starting out your career in social media, these pages are extremely helpful.  For the more experienced people reading this, I’ve included a ‘hidden gem’ about each of these pages– so that even if you’re aware of/following these pages, you can still discover something new about them.  Without further ado, here’s the list:

1. Facebook Marketing

An obvious first choice, you’ll often find interesting tips and new feature/platform announcements from this page.

Hidden Gem: The ‘Resources’ app is a must for everyone, with awesome guides and videos about Pages, Ads, Insights, Open Graph, Offers, etc.

2. AllFacebook

The undisputed #1 resource for breaking news on Facebook, AllFacebook should be a place that you visit daily.  Whether it’s Mark Zuckerberg’s latest like or a major platform change, AllFacebook is all over it.

Hidden Gem: They are a part of Inside Network, which publishes the most detailed Facebook Marketing Guide, the Facebook Marketing Bible.

3. Mari Smith

If you’re a Facebook Marketing professional and you don’t know who Mari Smith is, consider yourself lucky to have a job.  She’s [in my opinion] the #1 independent Facebook Marketing expert.  She provides a myriad of resources: YouTube Videos, Webinars, E-Books, Conferences, interesting blog articles, and much much more.  Even better, ask her a question– she’ll actually respond to you.

Hidden Gem: Mari publishes a weekly post with the top 5 social media tips [of the week].  Subscribe to it!

4. Social Media Examiner

As you may be able to read in their ‘About’ section above, Social Media Examiner is the world’s largest online social media magazine.  Their daily email newsletter is awesome.  Unlike the other pages on this list, they also provide news and tips on other social networks like Twitter, Youtube, Foursquare, etc.  I’ve found that they tend to focus on Facebook, which is why I thought they deserved a spot on this list.

Hidden Gem: They also host the largest online Facebook Marketing conference.

5. Facebook Studio

Facebook Studio is an awesome place to see some real examples of successful Facebook Marketing strategies.  They have a long list of  video case studies with major brands and platform announcements.  Check them out!

Hidden Gem:  They also have a great blog that features new announcements and additional Facebook Marketing success stories.

Honorable Mention:

There are some other great pages for Facebook News and Updates, but these other pages have a much broader focus, and Facebook-related stories probably make up 10-25% of their overall content.  These are high quality sources, so they deserve to be on this list, but not in the same category as the others.  I’ve also included Facebook Page bios in case you aren’t familiar with these companies.

  • KissMetrics - Get to know your people. KISSmetrics gives you a person-centric view of your data so you can increase conversions and improve retention.
  • Hubspot - HubSpot is all-in-one inbound marketing software that helps businesses generate more leads online.
  • TechCrunch - Breaking technology news and analysis. The number one guide for all things tech.
  • Mashable - Latest digital, social media, business, tech, entertainment and mobile news.
