Why Read it?
Links generally don’t perform as well as other post types for most Pages on Facebook. This new change may help drive more reach and engagement– and thus referral traffic– from Pages back to their website. This is big news that shouldn’t be overlooked.

7. Facebook makes recommendation stories in the feed more visual

Why Read it?
Until this change happened, recommendation stories seemed to be relatively hidden on Facebook. They didn’t stand out too much, and rarely made their way into the Newsfeed. Prominence for these stories could mean a lot for small businesses, potentially helping them gain more likes and ultimately customers.

Why Read it?
This gives you a great look into what Graph Search on Facebook actually looks like. Josh was one of the lucky few people who had early access to this new feature, and he was nice enough to record a video showing how it works and list a wide range of possible use cases for Graph Search. Why Read it?
Serena makes some interesting predictions about how Pages will measure success on Facebook this year. She hints at a movement away from focusing on fan count and more towards extracting value from these fans. She believes targeting will play a big factor in this, and I would agree.

Why Read it?
This is just a really cool post by Facebook. They’ve given us the Faces behind their new, hyped product Graph Search. Their roles range from designers and researchers to linguists and content strategists. Overall, just a very cool move by Facebook.

Why Read it?
Lots of great, actionable tips here. While the title says it’s for non-profits, these are great for any page, especially those with a small budget on Facebook! Try some out and let us know what ones work the best.
2. Do Like Sources Unfairly Flag Your Facebook Page for Buying Likes?

Why Read it?
Jon brings up a very interesting point here. Some people have pointed fingers at different brands who have substantial following in countries they do limited/no business in. While it’s a possibility they have these fans because they bought them [on the cheap!], it’s really impossible to prove. Jon goes in detail here as to why it’s dangerous to come to a quick conclusion based on this. Great read.

Why Read it?
Rich talks about just about everything you need to know about Facebook as a small business– and does so in great detail with great examples. He covers everything from initial set up to EdgeRank and Insights. This is definitely a must-read for the beginner and even a good refresher for those who feel like they know their stuff.
