Author: Tiffany Hopkins, Likeable Media
Why Read It?
This is just a really cool post– it cites a few examples of Facebook fans posting influential thoughts/ideas on the walls of large companies– and how these companies responded. Some did better than others, but the real lesson here is that when fans talk, you need to listen– and respond!

Author: Brittany Darwell, InsideFacebook

This is a somewhat speculative piece, but it seems to have some legitimacy behind it, as whisperings by Facebook’s VP of Product are cited. When you think about it, News Feed is probably due for a radical change. Darwell points out what some of these changes may look like, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was on point with her predictions.

In case you haven’t heard, Facebook has implemented a new rule that cover images and promoted post images cannot include more than 20% text. According to Adam and many others, Facebook is very serious about this. Note that you can still post whatever you’d like to your page, but if you plan on promoting your posts, this is very important. Adam cites an easy way for you to measure your photos against this new rule. Check it out!
3. Going Beyond the Standard Facebook Page Insights Reports
Author: John Haydon, JonLoomer.com
Why Read It?
To put it simply, this stuff is really freaking important. Insights is an amazing resource that’s totally under-utilized by Facebook marketers. I applaud Facebook for their generosity/transparency in giving us all this data (Twitter doesn’t!). Anyway, John’s piece is awesome. Just read it!
Author: Drew Olanoff, TechCrunch
Why Read It?
Well, the title covers the story pretty thoroughly, but this is really important. Despite the fact that most people know mobile is huge, they optimize their Facebook marketing efforts around desktop. Make sure your page/posts/apps/etc work and look properly on mobile too! Also, there’s a pretty cool video of a fireside chat with Zuck in this article, check it out!
1. 8 Reasons Your Page Isn’t Being Liked On Facebook
Author: Mandy Edwards, MeMarketing
Why Read It?
Mandy points out some common mistakes people make. While I don’t necessarily agree that all these mistakes dissuade Facebook users from liking your page, they are [all too common] mistakes. One of the worst mistakes she mentions is posting completely irrelevant content. I couldn’t agree more– it’s ok to mix it up and be fun once in a while, but try to stay relevant! Negative feedback will cripple your page!
